As an artist, my objective is to give you (the viewer) something unique, something you don't see every day. Art is to the eyes what music is to the ears, and it's my objective to give you an escape from reality. In order to execute accuracy in my work, I enjoy spending time investigating and studying up on each of my subjects. Nothing frustrates me more than hitting a gallery and seeing subject matter that is commonplace, something that I see each and every day. A 2' X 3' oil of a coffee mug? A blender? These self proclaimed artist's need to spend a moment exercising their creative genius. I don't know about everyone else, but to me art is 'creation.' And the most vital part of being an artist is tapping into this creative process. I fail to see anything creative in finding something laying around the house and putting it on canvas.
